MR. ANTONIE BOMGAARS DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mr. Antonie Bomgaars passed away quietly and calmly at his home here on Saturday evening, Feb. 16, 1945 [i.e., 1946] after an illness of seven months. He had reached the age of 57 years and 24 days.

Mr. Bomgaars was born at Middleburg on Jan. 24, 1889 and grew up on the farm there. He made confession of his faith at the Reformed Church at Hull. On March 8, 1910 he was united in marriage to Miss Hattie Leusink and the family made their home on farms in the Middleburg and Hull vivinities until several years ago when they retired and made their home in Sioux Center.

Left to mourn the loss of his departure are his wife and three daughters: Margaret (Mrs. Jake Doornoos) of Boyden, Grace (Mrs. Adrian Buurman) of Orange City and Clazina (Mrs. G. J. Scholten) of Hull. Also five grandchildren and four brothers, Arie of Sheldon, Gerrit of Matlock, and Joe and Henry both of Hull. Also three sisters, Tracy (Mrs. John Van Oort) of Middleburg, Nellie (Mrs. Wm. Van Dyke) of Hynes, Calif., and Sophia (Mrs. Gilbert Nay) of Bellflower, Calif.

Mr. Bomgaars was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nick Bomgaars and by his oldest brother Marinus who died at the age of 17 years.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock at the home and at one thirty at the First Reformed Church. Rev. L. A. Brunsting officiated. Burial took place at the Hope cemetery at Hull and acting as pall bearers were Frank Vander Wilt, Tony Vander Wilt, Amos Vander Wilt, Marinus Bomgaars, Arie Bomgaars and Dick De Kock.

Published probate court summaries (Sioux Center News, May 30, 1946) state that his estate was valued at about $10,000 in real estate and about $19,750 in cash, accounts, and bonds.
