Parts of an article from the Alton Democrat of Jul 29, 1893
Last week a Mr. Nash, living near Trosky, MN, while cleaning out an old well that had been filled up with straw and rubbish on a farm which he had purchased a short time ago in that section, came upon the dead body of a man - the flesh having decaded from the bones so that any hope of recognition was made impossible. Upon ezamination of the body they found two bullet holes in the skull, which proved the man had been murdered. The paper at Edgerton says that about a year or more ago that some parties from this part of Iowa had been employed on the farm to do some plowing. They worked a while and then went away, nobody knowing much about htem. However, the officers are making every effort to ferrit out the guilty party. Later... the Pipestone Star says the remians are those of G.(Gerrit) Aldrink/Aalderink of Sioux County IA, and that a warrant has been issued for G.(George) Terpstra, charging him with murder. An officer made a trip in this county this week and learned the accused in now in the Netherlands. It appears the two men were partners in breaking up a lot of Minnesota land last spring. Aldrink disappeared suddenly and Terpstra said he had gone to St. Paul. The money reeived for breaking and th ehorses and outfit used, is thought to have been the motive for the crime.

Below is a translation from the account in the Orange City Volksvriend of 27 Jul 1893.
Wednesday came here, so the message Advocate, marshal Redmond, of Pipestone, MN, in order to obtain information about a certain Gerrit Alderink, who, in company with Geo. Terpstra, 2 years ago to Pipestone, went to prairie to come for the brothers. Stanley. It was around July 1, 1890, they came to Pipestone on new teams to head. After the teams had to have bought it so they said, was to Iowa. Alderink did not return, but Terpstra did , and said that his partner or soon would have the gold to pay for the teams. Last week now found the people currently on the locality in (cone?) or a corpse, and as a bullet through the skull was revealed how the person at its end was the Coroners jury found that the corpse to his Gerrit Alderink and that he through a ball on his end had come. Terpstra is under suspicion and warrant servants on him.
