William Van Nimwegen and wife went to Middleburg Wednesday to attend the funeral of Marinus Bomgaars who died there Sunday [Dec. 13] aged seventy-three years. He had lived in Sioux county for twenty-two years and leaves a wife and nine children. The children are Arie, Mrs. Pete Beukelmon, Joseph, Nicholas, Mrs. J. De Kook, Mrs. William Mouw all of Sioux county and three children at home.

Sioux County death records (Record of Deaths, 1897-1904) gives his age as 73-1-1; says he was a painter, born Netherlands; cause of death: dropsy; buried in Free Grace Cemetery.
