Arie Bomgaars died suddenly Sunday evening at his home near Middleburg. Deceased leaves a widow and five children--four boys and one girl--the oldest being twenty-two years and the youngest twelve years. Mr. Bomgaars was well known and liked in Sioux County. He was a prosperous farmer and was living on the farm of William Vander Wilt three miles northwest of Middleburg. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon. Deceased was about forty-eight years old. Interment was at Middleburg.

Sioux county death records (Transcript of Deaths, 1906-1920) says that he was born Sept. 16, 1857, age 49 years 3 months 20 days; born Iowa; father M. Bomgaars, born Netherlands; mother Nellie Boland; occupation farmer; residence Welcome Township; died Jan. 6, 1907; cause: nephritis.
