Lewis R. Doty, 81, of Alcester, died Thursday, Aug. 27 in a Hawarden hospital.

Services were at 10 A.M., Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in Emmett Cemetery near Alcester under direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden. The rosary was recited at 8 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Doty was born Aug. 16, 1899, in Union County. He married Clara Magenot, Feb. 21, 1921, in Canton. They lived in Omaha where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 26 years. They retired to a farm in Alcester in 1964. Mrs. Doty died in 1975.

Survivors include one son, Raymond G. of Tuscon, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite D. Wilson of Omaha and Mrs. Agnes A. Bastemeyer of Alcester; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and three sisters, Joy Bright and Fern Patnoe, both of Beresford and Olive Johnson of Alcester.
