The sad announcement was made this morning of the death of Miss Mary Gehan, which occurred during the night at her father's residence in this city. The deceased had been enjoying good health until yesterday when she was confined to her room with a cold. Near midnight she was taken with a sinking spell and her father and brother and Walter Tobin, who is making his home with Mr. Gehan, were aroused. Word had been dispatched for a lady friend and Walter who had been left at the bedside went up stairs on an errand and when he returned a few moments later found Miss Gehan dead. Dr. Quigley who was called, announced that death resulted from the rupture of a pulmonary artery.

The funeral will occur at the Catholic church in this city Saturday at 9 o'clock after which the remains will be taken to Emmett, S.D., for interment.

The deceased leaves an aged father, three brothers, a sister and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrowing relatives.
