Mrs. John E. Gearhart, 98, of Hawarden died Sunday, January 24 in the Hawarden Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Associated Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Heston Milligan officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. There was a prayer service Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M., at the Dow Funeral Home.

She married John Gearhart, Sept. 6, 1913 in Sioux City. He died Sept. 20, 1962.

She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood and the Order of Eastern Star of Akron.

Survivors include one son, David S. of Hawarden, and one granddaughter.
