Mrs. Ellen Garrett, wife of Richard Garrett, of Eagle Township, died last Friday morning after an illness of several months with consumption. The deceased was one of the oldest settlers in this vicinity having moved here from Wisconsin with her husband about twenty years ago. She was a kind and benevolent woman, greatly beloved by all her acquaintances. The funeral services were held at the U.P. Church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. M. Gilchrist, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Ireton Cemetery. A husband and family of eight grown up children are left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and kind and devoted mother. The family of the deceased have the sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement.
