Elizabeth Daale, 85, of Hawarden died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden with Rev. Marvin Vander Vliet officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, under direction of Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Daale, the former Elizabeth Vander Lugt, was born Sept. 12, 1906, in Schipluiden the Netherlands, the daughter of William and Grace (Van Santen) Vander Lugt. She came to the United States in 1915. She married Peter J. Daale Feb. 14, 1929, in Lebanon, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Hawarden and Lebanon area. They retired in 1963. He died Nov. 21, 1964, and she moved into Hawarden in 1975. Mrs. Daale was a member of the Christian Reformed church in Hawarden.

Survivors include. three sons and their wives, Peter and Henrietta, Wilbur and Lucy and Ron and Joyce, all of Hawarden; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Vander Lugt and Annie Vander Lugt, both of Hawarden; nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, and an infant brother; five sisters, Gertie Kooi, Dorothy Swier, Nellie Vander Lugt, and Marie Dekkers.

A memorial has been established in her name with the Hawarden Community Hospital auxiliary.
