OBITUARY EDWARD GEORGE MAHONEY

Edward George Mahoney, son of Mary Crowder Mahoney and Edward Francis Mahoney was born October 18, 1878 at Wykoff, Minn., and passed away at his home in State Center, Iowa, on August 18, 1937 at 5:45 A.M. Death was due to a stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Mahoney's father died when he was a small boy, and in 1888 he with his mother, step-father, and brothers moved to Boyden, Iowa. In 1902 he was married to Virgie B. Harmon and six children were born to this union: an infant daughter who died in 1903; Frances Belle, who passed away in 1924; and (Edna) Mrs. Ronald Ellis of Cedar Falls; (Esther) Mrs. Howard Verrips of Sibley; and Mildred and Edward Jr., at home.

The Mahoney family moved to State Center, thirteen years ago.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, his father and mother; two brothers, James and Perce Mahoney; and a half-brother, Harry Starkweather; and is survived by the widow, the above mentioned children, one grand-daughter, Sandra Lee Verrips of Sibley, his step-father F.L. Starkweather, half-brother, F.E. Starkweather, besides many other relatives and friends.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all those friends and relatives who so willingly helped us in the time of our bereavement, caused by the death of our husband and father, Mr. Edward Mahoney.

Then, too, we also wish to give sincere thanks for the beautiful floral offerings and the special music.
