VANDEZANDSCHULP, VANDERGRIEND, VANDEGRIEND

Henry Vande Zandschulp, 64, of Orange City, died Wednesday, June 4, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church at Sioux Center. The Rev. David Smit officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Vande Zandschulp was born Aug. 10, 1915, near Perkins. He married Nellie Vander Griend Jan. 30, 1946, at Orange City. They farmed in rural Orange City.

Survivors include the widow; five sons, Conrad Lee of Cedar Rapids, Marvin D. and Jeris, both of Sioux Center, Harlan of Sioux City and James of Orange City; two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Marlene) Kooi of Harrisburg, S.D. and Mrs. Gail (Janice) Hight of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Bleeker and Miss Jennie, both of Sioux Center and Mrs. Tony Van Rockel of Rock Rapids; and nine grandchildren.

His wife's obituary (Sioux Center News, Feb. 1, 1994) spells her maiden name Vande Griend.
The same obituary appears in the Sioux County Capital, June 9, 1980, and the Rock Valley Bee, June 12, 1980.
He had also suffered a heart attack the previous month and been admitted to the Orange City hospital for medical care (Sioux Center News, May 14, 1980)
