Jacob P. Vander Zwaag, 72, passed away Monday afternoon, August 18, 1980 at the Marion Health Center, Sioux City, IA following a brief illness.
Jake was born February 16, 1908 in Middleburg, Ia the son of Peter and Kate (Mantel) Vander Zwaag. On January 15, 1931 he married Arta Docter in Orange City and they farmed in the Sioux County area all their life, until they retired 10 years ago.
Mr. Vander Zwaag was a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City, IA.
Survivors include the widow: two sons, Peter Leo of Hull and Kenneth Clair of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Lois) DeJong and Mrs. Willard (Jackie) Punt, both of Orange City; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Henry P. of Orange City and Bernard of Sheldon; and two sisters, his twin, Mrs. Gerrit (Clara) Doornink of Sioux Center and Mrs. William (Liz) Kosters of Orange City.
Hr was preceded in death by two grandsons, Terry Punt and Ricky De Jong.
