Elizabeth Raak, 81, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning in an Orange City hospital.
She was born August 14, 1902, at Orange City, the daughter of Frank and Wilhemina Vander Maaten. She married John J. Reekers January 3, 1923 at Orange City. He passed away July 24, 1961. She then married Gerrit Raak July 29, 1964 at Orange City. He died June 23, 1969.
She was a lifelong resident of Orange City and a member of the First Reformed Church and Lydia Circle of the RCW.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Adrian (Muriel) Jacobs of Orange City; two grandchildren, Ron Jacobs and Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Lubbers, both of Orange City; two step-daughters, Mrs. James (Hendrine) Van Gelder of Orange City and Mrs. Wilbur (Betty) Van Gelder of LeMars; seven great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Allie Kleinhesselink.
