Minnie De Groot, 83, died Tuesday at the Heritage House following a lingering illness. She was born September 3, 1897, at Orange City the daughter of Willem and Fannie (Granstraa) Van Peursem. She married John S. De Groot on December 12, 1918. She spent her entire life in the Sioux County area, and lived the past three years at the Heritage House. She was a charter member of the Calvary Chrisitan Reformed Church.
Survivors include: her husband, John; three sons, Stewart of Alton, Freeman of Orange City, and Harold of Lansing, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. William Van Peursem of Redlands, CA., and Abe Van Peursem of Orange City; a sister, Mrs. Tony (Adrianna) De Weerd of Orange City, She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
