Funeral Services: Tuesday, May 30, 1989, at 10:30 am. from the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, IA. Family Prayer service at 10:15 am.
At Rest: West Lawn Cemetery - Orange City, Iowa
Arrangements: Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center, Iowa
Neal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Dykhuizen was born January 5, 1915 in Sioux Center, IA. He lived his youth in Sioux Center and attended grade school there.
Neal married Grace Fedders on April 10, 1941 in Orange City. After their marriage they lived in Orange City.
Neal served three years in the United States Army during World War II. When he came home he worked for different car repair garage for a number of years and then had his own shoe sales and repair business for many years. He owned a shoe repair business even after retirement until his illness. During this time he was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, there serving as deacon and elder for many years. He also served in the Western Christian High School Board and 22 years on the Pioneer Retirement Home Board.
Survivors include his wife and one son and daughter-in-law Fred and Sharon Dykhuizen of Sioux Center, three daughter and son-in-laws, Robert (Nelva) Rowenhorst, Brad (Marlene) Calsbeek both of Orange City, and Sal (Marlys) Sciandra of Plymouth, Massachusetts, ten grandchildren and 2 great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bert and his twin, Fred, and one sister, Johanna Verkey.
