Died: March 28, 1990, Sioux Center, IA
Services at the First Reformed Church at 10:30 and 11:00 AM. on Saturday, March 31, 1990, Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt Officiating
Burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday. March 31, 1990.
Mr. Edward Dykshorn passed away Wednesday in Sioux Center, IA at the age of eighty-two years. He was born July 17, 1907, at the family farm west of Sioux Center. On March 28, 1933, in Maurice, IA, he was united in marriage to Margaret Kuiken who now survives. To this union seven children were born: Audrey Den Herder of Sioux Center, IA: Wanda, Mrs. Marvin Te Grotenhuis, of Colorado Springs. Colorado: Mildred, Mrs. Gerald Meuleners, of Wilimar, MN. Wayne of lreton, IA: Owen of Ireton, IA: Eldon of Sioux City, IA: and Shirley. Mrs. Alan Schouten, of Sioux Center, Iowa. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and the following brother and sisters. Gertrude, Mrs. John Sneller of Sioux Center, IA; Marion Dykshorn of Sheldon, IA; Harriet, Mrs. Henry Franken, of Pella, IA: and Margaret, Mrs. Dave Roelofs, of Sioux Center, IA. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Simon, John, William and Martin; two sisters, Minnie ana Eldine; and a son-in-law, Roger Den Herder.
Ed was a lifelong resident of Sioux Center and farrned west of Sioux Center until he moved into town in 1967. He was also a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church where he served on the consistory as both elder and deacon. He also served on various other boards involved community service.
