Pearl was the daughter of Klaas and Serena (De Waard) Van Drongelen. When she was a child, she moved to South Dakota with her family.
On January 23, 1933, she married Charlie Dykstra at Harrison, South Dakota. They farmed in the Stickney, South Dakota area, until 1958, when they moved to Corsica. Mrs. Dykstra was a cook at a restaurant in Corsica. In 1976, they moved to Orange City. They became residents of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in 1995. In 1996, they transferred to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, where she passed away.
Mrs. Dykstra was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 68 years; two sons and their wives, Merlyn and Ann Dykstra of Orange City; and Vernon and Fran Dykstra of Sioux Falls, South Dakota;
11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rena De Vries of Harrison; a brother, Joe Van Drongelen of Harrison; a cousin, Elizabeth Coryell of Meridian, Idaho; and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Erwin Dykstra, as a result of a car accident; and a brother, Adrian Van Drongelen.
