Calvary Christian Reformed Church, Orange City. Iowa

Genevieve Frances was the daughter of Isaac and Johanna (Van Veldhuizen) Herwynen. She was raised at Orange City, where she graduated from high school.
On October 16, 1934, she married Harry Meyer at Orange City. They lived in Orange City, Sioux City, and Le Mars. Mr. Meyer passed away November 25, 1947, at Le Mars.
Mrs. Meyer then returned to Orange City, where she was a secretary at Diamond Vogel Paint for many years. In 1991, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City and in July of 1993, she transferred to the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City, where she passed away, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
She was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Harmony Workers.
Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Marla and Harlan Hofmeyer of Sioux Center; and Jan and Terry Jonker of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Jerry Hofmeyer and his wife, Lois, and Sue and her husband, Doug Wielard, all of Aurora, Illinois; Todd Jonker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Shira Jonker of Allentown, Pennsylvania; seven great-grandchildren, Lisa, Dean, Nathan. and Jennica Hofmeyer; and Ross, Clay, and Krista Wielard; and a sister and her husband, Pearl and Robert Kuyper of Georgetown, Texas.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daryl Hofmeyer; a sister, Elsie Herwynen; and a brother, Richard Herwynen.
