Mary Eileen Lynott, 75, of Hawarden, longtime teacher, died Monday, October 4, 1993, at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Edmond Adams and the Rev. Edward Burian concelebrating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Maurice.

Mary Eileen Lynott was born October 12, 1917, in Hawarden, the daughter of Sylvester and Ethel (Dealy) Lynott. She graduated from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City and received her master's degree from the University of Iowa. She taught at several colleges, including Briar Cliff, and later at the Fort Dodge Community college. She retired in 1980.

She was an "Alumnus of the Year" for Briar Cliff College in the early 1980s.

Survivors include an aunt, Loretto Lynott of Hawarden, and many cousins.
