LAST RITES HELD FOR MISS LYNOTT HERE WEDNESDAY

Miss Catherine Lynott, 61, lifetime resident here, died at the Hawarden hospital Sunday morning [June 3]. A solemn requiem high mass with Fr. Leander Friedman as celebrant, Fr. R. Graf of Rozelle, deacon, and Fr. Gerald Skahill of Akron, subdeacon, was said at St. Mary's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Accolytes were Charles Burnight and Bob D. Koob, with Tom Shouse as censor bearer.

Pall bearers were nephews of Miss Lynott, Norman Lynott of Chicago, Edward McCarthy of Texas, James McCarthy, Bob Lynott, William McCarthy and Gordon O'Harrow of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Lynott, and a brother, Fr. A. J. Lynott.

Miss Lynott was born at Hawarden on April 20, 1895, and lived on the home farm all of her life. Upon graduation from St. Mary's high school, she attended National Business Training school at Sioux City. She was in the commercial department at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. here 25 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Guild, St. Francis Circle and the American Pioneers club of the Bell Telephone Co.

Survivors include her twin sister, Mrs. Nan Gehan of Sioux Falls and two sisters, Mrs. Mary McCarthy and Miss Loretto Lynott of Hawarden; two brothers, Emmett and John Vess Lynott of Sioux City, and several nieces and nephews.
