Jeanetta was the daughter of Arie Kreykes and Mattie (Rietsma) Kreykes. As a child, her family lived at Boyden, Hospers, and Orange City.

On April 7, 1936, she married Elmer Wiersema at Orange City. They farmed at Middleburg, Sioux Center, and Orange City. In 1968, they moved into Orange City.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she had belonged to the Lydia Circle and in earlier years had served as a Sunday School teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. Wiersema were faithful visitors of the church’s "shut-ins".

Survivors include her husband; son, Ivan and his wife, Darlene, of Cherokee; daughter, Mary and her husband, Dale Wurpts, of Orange City; son-in-law, Larry Heemstra and his wife, Lois, of Primghar; eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, a great-grandson; and two sisters and a brother, Hattie Woudstra, Joe Kreykes, and Stella Verbrugge, all of Orange City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joann Heemstra; and brothers, William and John Kreykes and a brother in infancy.
