WAS VICTIM OF A HEART ATTACK -- VICTOR LUNDGREN DIED SUDDENLY WEDNESDAY NOON -- Was 72 Years Old and Lived in the Alcester and Hawarden Communities for 35 Years

Victor Lundgren, a resident of this and the Alcester vicinity for over 35 years, passed away suddenly at his home, six miles west of Hawarden, about noon Wednesday from a heart attack. Mr. Lundgren had not been well recently and his son, Emer Lundgren, took him to a physician last week and he was told that he must take life easier. Mrs. Lundgren had prepared dinner for him Wednesday but he stated he did not feel like eating so drank a glass of milk and when she turned to leave the room he passed away very unexpectedly.

Funeral services will be held at the Baptish church in Alcester Saturday afternoon with Rev. H. L. Peterson in charge. Burial will be in the Alcester cemetery.

Victor Lundgren was born in Smoland, Sweden, September 15, 1867, and passed away April 17, 1940, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 2 days. He grew to young manhood in Sweden, coming to America when 22 years of age, locating at Kiron, Iowa. He was united in marriage with Lottie Johnson at Kiren in February, 1897, and for eight years they lived at Kiron. In 1905 they came to Union county, locating on a farm near Alcester and ever since he has lived in this community. Six children were born to this union, one of whom, Mrs. Abbie Berglund, passed away in 1937. The children, who with the wife survive him, are Emer of Hawarden; Algot and Arnold of Alcester; Mrs. Geneva Bahr of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Ruby Bowers of Beresford. He was the youngest in a family of four sons and was the last member of his family.

When in Sweden he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith but after coming to Union county he united with the Baptist church at Alcester. He was of a quiet and reserved disposition and his interests were in his home. He was a kiind and loving husband and father and sincere sympathy is extended to his wife and children in their sudden and great sorrow.
