Gilbert Ryken, 67. Hudson, S.D., died
Saturday. Jan. 8, at an Alcester nursing
home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2
pm. at the Hudson Lutheran church with
Rev. ,Iohn Heruth officiating.

Burial will be in the Eden cemetery
under direction of the Van-DeMore funeral
home.

Mr. Ryken was born Oct. 14, 1904, in the
Netherlands. He came to the United States
in 1920 and started farming near Ireton.

He was married to Tillie Jepp Feb, 2,
1929, at Lennox. They farmed in Sioux
county until 1942 when they moved to a
farm in Lincoln county.

Mrs. Ryken died in 1967. He then
married Mrs. Lila Toft on Sept. 6, 1968, at
Hudson. They retired and moved into
Hudson.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Lawrence,
and a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Hermanson,
both of Hudson: four step-sons.
Gerald Toft of Hawarden, James and
Phillip Toft, both of Sioux Falls, and
Lauren Toft of Madison, S.D.; step-daughter,
Mrs. Mavis Fjellanger of Sioux
Falls: 24 grandchildren: two brothers.
John of Artesia and Dick of Independence,
Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Henry Bosch of
Wyoming, Mich.
