MALUCHNIK, DAWSON, BRENNAN

Mrs. Chester Maluchnik, 32, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Hawarden, died in a Sioux Falls hospital last Thursday from cancer of the nerves, a rare disease.

She had been critically ill five weeks and about a week prior to her death she was flown to Iowa City in hopes that she might receive medical help.

Funeral services were held at 10 A.M., Monday at the Bentz Memorial Chapel in Sioux Falls. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

A daughter of the late EllsworthDawson and Mrs. Ruth Brennan, she was born on a farm near Hawarden June 23, 1923. After completing her elementary education in a rural school, she attended the Hawarden High School two years. After moving to Sioux Falls she attended Washington High School from which she was graduated.

She married Chester Maluchnik at Dyersburg, Tenn. in 1940.

When she resided in the Hawarden vicinity she attended the Baptist Church and after she moved to Sioux Falls she united with the First Baptist Church in that city.

Survivors are the widower; one daughter, Marcia Kay, 10; her mother, Mrs. Ruth Brennan who lived with her; two brothers, Harold and Howard of Sioux Falls.

Those attending the service include Mr. & Mrs. Harry Dawson, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dawson, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Miller, Miss Edith Miller and Charles Miller, all of Hawarden; Mrs. Alice Miller Knapp of Onawa, and Mr. & Mrs. Quinton Miller of Alcester.
