Lloyd Larson, a resident of Hawarden for a number of years, passed away at 7:40 Tuesday evening at the state hospital in Cherokee, following a long illness.

Mr. Larson was taken ill in March 1935 with a brain tumor. He submitted to three operations for the ailment at Iowa City, the last operation being performed almost a year ago. Since the last operation he failed to improve and grew weaker gradually until the end. Mrs. Larson was called to his bedside, and was with him at the time of his death.

His remains were brought to Hawarden Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Associated Church with Rev. Clarence W. Hanscom in charge. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Lloyd Larson, son of Mrs. J. P. Larson, of Alcester, was born April 6, 1904, so was past 38 years of age at the time of his death. When six years old he came to the Big Springs vicinity with his parents. He received his grade education in the rural schools of Union county. He attended the Alcester high school one year.

On Jan. 28, 1929 he was married at Sioux City to Miss Ella Carlson of Hawarden. They made their home here and he was engaged in the barber trade until he became ill.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by five brothers and two sisters, Clarence and Lowell Larson of Hawarden; Orrin, Rolland and Glenn Larson of Alcester, Mrs. Gladys Kramme of La Belle, Mo., and Mrs. Eunice Rossbach of Ann Arbor, Mich. There are a number of nieces and nephews.
