George Lang, 72, Hawarden, died Monday, May 21, 1984, at a rest home in Alcester, SD.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the United Methodist Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.

Mr. Lang was born on Aug. 17, 1911, in Evansville, MN. He married Gwendalyn Earl on May 15, 1935, in Hawarden. The couple farmed in the Evansville area for 17 years, moving to the Ireton area in 1952. They farmed there until moving to Hawarden in 1976.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Mary) Kennedy of Hawarden and Mrs. Milo (Pamela) Hemmingson of Alcester; three sisters, Estella Peters of Los Angeles, Mae Farr of Minneapolis and Mrs. Dave (Pherne) Gawlik of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers, Alden of Conneaut, OH, and Kenneth of Isle, MN; and three grandchildren.
