Dr. Wm. E. Madson received a message last Friday morning advising him of the sudden death of his father, Claus Madson, at Los Angeles, California. Dr. Madson departed at once for Los Angeles to be present at the funeral. Press dispatches state that the shock of being met by burglars when he opened his front door upon returning home alone was the cause of his death but this report lacks confirmation.

Mr. Madson was 78 years of age and is survived by his wife. They made their home in Sioux City until about three years ago when they moved to Los Angeles and had recently completed a new home there. The sympathy of the community is extended to Dr. Madson and his aged mother.
