Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 2 P.M., Tuesday, May 12, for Henry D. Lammers, 73, life-long resident of Sioux Center community and retired farmer, who passed away Saturday at the Sioux Center Community hospital following a five weeks confinement.
He had suffered for sometime from Parkinson's disease.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Harry Brower and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Co-operative Funeral Service.
Mr. Lammers was born in Sioux Center March 28, 1891, the son of Mr. & Mrs. D. Lammers. He was married to Johanna Westra here November 19, 1917, and the couple resided on a farm 1 1/2 miles south and three miles west of Sioux Center until retiring from farming in 1958 and moving into Sioux Center. The family address here is 216 Second Street southeast.
Survivors besides his widow include two sons, Dick of Maurice and Stanley of 1210 S. Maple, Sioux City; four daughters, Hermina Richmond of 9517 Mayne St., Bellflower, Cal., Hendrene Vander Heiden of Sioux Falls, Nelvina Mulder, of Maurice, Betty Van Wyk of George, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, John of Alton, William of Sheldon and Ralph of Sioux Center; four sisters, Jane Addink of Sioux Center, Alice Franken of Maurice, Hattie Van Donge of Sioux Center, Johanna Klein of Sioux Center.
Preceding him in death was an infant child.
