Mr. Louis Ludens, age 73, of Orange City, formerly of Woodstock, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, September 18, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

The funeral service was held on Monday, September 22, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. John Boender officiated. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City was in charge of the directions.

Louis was born February 13, 1924, at Springfield, South Dakota, the son of Henry and Annie (Palsma) Ludens. In 1938, he moved to Lime Springs, Iowa, with his family. In 1958, they moved to Woodstock, Minnesota. He was a farmer, retiring in 1993. He moved to Orange City on September 1, 1997.

He was a member of the American Reformed Church in Woodstock, where he had served on the consistory as a deacon.

Survivors include two sisters, Grace, and her husband, Eugene Van Wyk, or Orange City; Helena Ludens, of Orange City; a brother, Henry H. Ludens, and his wife, Shirley, of Hampton; and five nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Peter Ludens.
