Edward Lamoreaux, a pioneer of Akron, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 19th, from a heart attack. He apparently had been in his usual good health up until the time he passed away. Funeral services were held in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron, Tuesday morning of last week with Rev. Fr. J. A. Roder of Akron and Rev. Fr. C.P. Conway of Hawarden officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Akron.

Edward Lamoreaux was born April 4, 1869, in Montreal, Canada, so was past 64 years of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage with Amelia G. Rush April 24, 1895, and engaged in farming near Salix. In 1900 he moved his family to Akron and since that time has resided there. He was the father of 13 children, all of whom, with the widow survive except one daughter, Victoria Eva, who passed away at the age of two. The children are Nap, of Sioux City; Vetal of Sheshoni, Wyo.; Milford of Sloan; Leenard, Clifford, Lovey, Lloyd, William, Walter, Edna and Madalin of Akron, and Mrs. Steve Gant of Westfield, Mrs. Gant formerly lived in Hawarden.
