William D. Lammers, 93, died Wednesday, October 15, at his home in Sheldon. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon. The Rev. Kenneth Tenckinck officiated. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery at Sheldon under direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Lammers was born May 26, 1893, in rural Sioux Center. He lived his youth near Sioux Center and attended rural school. He served in the Army during World War I. He married Gertie Van Veldhuizen on February 22,1923, in Newkirk. The couple lived near Newkirk, Sioux Center and Sheldon until moving into Sheldon in 1976.

He was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church. He was a life member of Sioux Center American Legion and a member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Hermina McGinnis of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Mrs. Elizabeth Dykstra of Orange City and Fannie Menning of Doon; two sons, William of Sheldon and Gerrit of Ireton; one brother, Ralph of Sioux Center; one sister, Johanna Klein of Sioux Center; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
