Mrs. Helen Mak, age 93, of Hull, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 1984, at the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, after a short illness.

Helen was born January 24, 1891, at George, the daughter of Thole Isebrands and Gertie Primus Isebrands. On November 26, 1919, she married Frank Mak at George. They lived in George until 1930, when they moved to Hull, where they operated Mak's Cafe from 1933 to 1942. They then moved to Sioux City and later to California where Mrs. Mak was a cook at a naval base during World War II. In 1946, they returned to Hull, where they operated the American Legion Bowling Alley for 2 years. Mr. Mak passed away March 18, 1961.

Mrs. Mak was a member of the American Reformed Church of Hull and Reformed Church Women.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James (Dorothy Jean) Hymans of Hull; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Isebrands of Rock Rapids.

In addition to her husband, she was preceeded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Geraldine) Bush, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 2, at the American Reformed Church of Hull, with the Rev. Herman Van Galen officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
