THE PASSING OF F. VANDER STOEP
Funeral services for Floris Vander Stoep, an account of whose death was given in last week’s Bee, were held in the Christian Reformed church at Sheldon last Saturday, and the remains were brought to Rock Valley for interment in the Valley View Cemetery.
Mr. Vander Stoep had attained the age of seventy-nine years six months and five days. He was born in the Netherlands, June 2, 1855. When he was eight months old his parents moved to this country. They located at Pella, Iowa, where Mr. Vander Stoep grew to manhood.
Mr. Vander Stoep resided in Rock Valley for a number of years and during that time had charge of the Rock Valley creamery. He was united in marriage with Trynje Vellinga. The family also resided in South Dakota and Minnesota. Mrs. Vander Stoep passed away Nov. 4, 1930. Later Mr. Vander Stoep took quarters in the Sheldon home.
He was later married to Mrs. Ganzevoort who survives him.
Mr. Vander Stoep was the father of eleven children, six of whom survive him. They are Mrs. J. A. Kooiman, Mrs. Will Verdoorn and Frank Vander Stoep, of Edgerton, Minn.; Mrs. H. Giend, Middleburg, Mrs. K. Hartzuiker, of Hawarden, and Mrs. John Bajema, of Rock Valley. He also leaves 41 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

FORMER RESIDENT HAS PASSED ON
F. Vander Stoep, a former well known resident of Rock Valley, passed away at the Holland Home in Sheldon Wednesday night [Nov. 7], his death being due to cancer. Mr. Vander Stoep had charge of the Rock Valley creamery here for several years and has a number of friends here. He was 79 years old.

Mr. F. Vander Stoep, an inmate of the Holland home at Sheldon, died Wednesday. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Christian Ref. church. He is survived by his wife, also a resident at the Home. She will be remembered as Mrs. Ganzevoort, formerly of Hospers.
