October 21, 1918 - March 14, 2010
Mrs. Willemina Jansen, age 91, of Orange City, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Orange City Area Health System Hospital.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, March 22, at 1:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Donald Lenderink will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a prayer service on Monday, at 12:00noon, at the funeral home.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at the funeral home.

Willemina Johanna was born on October 21, 1918, in Zelhem, The Netherlands, the daughter of Gerrit and Johanna (Wolsink) Rietman. She was raised in Zelhem, where she graduated from the 't Loo elementary school.

On May 9, 1941, she married Wilhelm Jansen in The Netherlands. In August of 1956, they and their children moved to the United States, where they settled in Orange City. There she was a homemaker, and she assisted her husband in the operation of the Wooden Shoe Factory. She painted the shoes and also served as a salesperson. Mr. Jansen passed away on June 4, 1984, in Orange City.

In February of 2009, Mrs. Jansen became a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. She enjoyed cleaning and going out to dinner.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband, Ann and Jerry Rathman, of Sergeant Bluff; a son and his wife, John and Helen Jansen, of Orange City; five grandchildren, Tami Bliven, Sandi Reynders, Dale Jansen, Chad Jansen, and Sherry Davis; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Herman Rietman, in the The Netherlands.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerrit; and three sisters, Gerda, Dinnie, and Jans.
