Miss Kyla Ewoldt, age 21, of Hospers, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Orange City Area Health System Hospital.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, March 24, at 2:00pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers. The Rev. Brian Janssen will officiate. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hospers.

Kyla Lynn was born on May 31, 1988, in Primghar, the daughter of Roger and MaryAnn (Vierow) Ewoldt. She made her home with her parents.

She attended school in Rock Valley, graduating in 2008. While in school, she won a gold medal in basketball and a bronze medal in bowling, through the Iowa Special Olympics.

Kyla enjoyed camping at Cutty's at Lake Okoboji, miniature golfing, swimming, biking, and singing and dancing.

She will be missed by her parents, Roger and MaryAnn Ewoldt, of Hospers; two sisters, Shayla Ewoldt, and her son, Daniel, of Hospers; and Paula, and her husband, Kevin Hodgson, and their daughter, Isabell, of Le Mars; a brother, Aaron Ewoldt, of Pierre, South Dakota; uncles and aunts, Karen and James Oleson, and their sons, Patrick and Scott; Ed Vierow; Judy Pyle, and her sons, Mark and Scott; Kenny Ewoldt; and a great-grandaunt, Mary Elsing.

In heaven, she joins her grandparents, Delmar and Arvilla Ewoldt, from Hospers; Elmer and Agnes Vierow, from Aryshire; and Luverne Vierow, from Hospers.
