Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Boyden at 1:30 P.M., January 31 for Mrs. A. J. Van Roekel, 53, of Boyden, who died at the Sheldon Hospital January 28 after a lengthy illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Sylvester Moths and burial was in the Boyden Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Van Roekel, the former Alice Cleveringa, was born in Sioux Center, June 25, 1921. She was married May 7, 1941, at Sioux Center. The couple farmed near Boyden.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Myrna Goldene) Van't Hul of Boyden and Mrs. Jerry (Audrey Beth) Hoftyzer of Allendorf; three grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence, of Sioux Center and Tony of Orange City; and a sister, Mrs. Dick Van Klompenberg, of Alton.
