Funeral services for Mrs. Jake Van Diepen, 71, of Boyden, were held in the United Presbyterian Church of Boyden at 10:30 A.M., Monday, Dec. 9.

The Rev. Paul Moon officiated. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Boyden.

Mrs. Van Diepen died in a Sioux City hospital Thursday, Dec. 5 after a long illness.

The former Ora King was born January 18, 1903 in Rapid City, S.D. She was married June 14, 1931 in Sheldon. Mr. Van Diepen died in 1957.

Survivors include a son, Don, of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Coralynn) Vis of Marshalltown, two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Ona) Thayer of Madison, S.D., and Mrs. William (Leota) Thayer of Sheldon; three brothers, Judson of San Lorenzo, Calif., Cecil of Seattle, Wash., and Francis of Sheldon and seven grandchildren.
