Rites Held For John Haverhals

Funeral services for John B. Haverhals, 80, of Sioux Center, former longtime Hawarden farmer, who died Tuesday of last week after a long illness, were held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Bethel Christian Reformed church at Sioux Center. Rev. Howard Vander Well of the Lebanon Christian Reformed church officiated with burial in the Lebanon church cemetery.

Mr. Haverhals was born May 29, 1885, in The Netherlands, where he married Maria Aanen on May 26, 1910. The couple came to the United States in 1915 and farmed near Hawarden until they moved to Sioux Center 15 years ago. Mrs. Haverhals died November 18, 1960.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John Vande Kieft and Mrs. Floyd Van Kley, both of Sioux Center, and Mrs. John Wiechers of Hawarden; two sons, Adrian and John, Jr., both of Hawarden; a sister, Mrs. Tony Van Berkelof Sioux Center; 20 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
