Funeral services were held at the Associated Church in Hawarden at 1:30 P.M., Friday, August 22, for Chester C. Schoeneman, 67 of Hawarden, general manager of the Schoeneman Brothers Lumber Co. in Hawarden for 40 years and director of the Schoeneman Lumber Co., in Sioux City, who died August 19 in the Hawarden hospital after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert Young and burial was in the Hawarden Cemetery.

Mr. Schoeneman was born in Hawarden October 2, 1907. He married Olive Linkswiler in 1933. They resided in Mason City for a brief period and later moved to Hawarden.

He served for 12 years on the Hawarden school board.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Barba of Minneapolis; two sons, Robert of Columbus, Ohio, and Russell of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Flora Steffen of Palm Springs, Calif.; three brothers, Forest of Sioux City and Barton and Frank both of Dallas, Tex.
