Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville at 10:30 A.M., October 30, for Arnold Portz, 42, of Granville, who died October 27 at a Sioux City Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Edward Hoffmann and burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Portz was born August 12, 1932, at Alton. He farmed in the Granville area. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Granville VFW post.

Mr. Portz married Regina Stoll August 23, 1967, at Hospers.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Ruth, at home, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Portz of Granville; and a sister, Miss Martha Portz of Granville.
