Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Orange City at 10 A.M., Saturday, August 21, for Cornie Mantel, 72, of Orange City, who died August 21 at the Orange City hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Perry Raak and burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Mantel was born at Middleburg, April 17, 1903. He married Gertrude DeRoo, January 21, 1926, at Orange City. The couple farmed near Orange City before moving into town in 1959. He was custodian of the Sioux County courthouse for 15 years.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Harriet) Gorter of Worthington, Minn.; two sons, Jacob and Lester, both of Orange City, three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora De Haan of Hospers, and Mrs. Minnie Huisman of Orange City.
