Mrs. Betsy Lykken Dies At Age 85

Funeral services for Mrs. Betsy Lykken, 85, for many years a resident southwest of Hawarden in Union county, who died Sunday at the Bethesda Home for the Aged at Beresford, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Roseni Lutheran church ten miles south of Beresford, Rev. Ralph Christopherson officiating. Burial was in the Roseni church cemetery.

Mrs. Lykken was born May 1, 1880 at Yankton, S. D., and married Sigvold Lykken in Sioux City in 1905. They farmed southwest of Alcester for many years until his death in 1940. She moved into Alcester in 1952 and the last four years made her home at the Bethesda Home for the Aged.

Survivors include five daughters,Mrs. Alice Evjen of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Ella Heisler of Berkeley, Calif., Mrs. Claude (Bertha) Brown of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Mrs. Henning (Selma) Westin and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Tiltrum, both of Alcester; two son's, O'Neal and George Lykken, both of Alcester; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A daughter, Marie preceded her in death in 1939.
