Alvin White Of Ireton Succumbs

Alvin White, 79, a resident, of the Ireton community all his life, died Saturday at the Hawarden hospital after a four-week illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden with Ellis Tyson and Jay Wilson officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Ireton.

Mrs. James Kots as organist and Mr. Wilson was the soloist. Casket bearers were Lane Sclielling, Fred Van Schepen, Julius Barents, Dick Qrrnink, Bill Bliet and Gerrit Kots.

Mr. White was born April 18, 1887, in Plymouth: county, the youngest son of 12 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas White. He was the last surviving member of the family.

Mr. White was a farmer and later a railroad employee.

He married Opal Davis April 1, 1909. One daughter, Ruth, died at the age of 5.

Survivors include the widow, Opal; five daughters, Mrs. Edward (Helen) Hauck of Utica, S.D., Mrs. Russell (Madge) __ of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mrs. Herbert (Margaret) Reinking of Lakewood, Calif.; Mrs. Jake (--) Wynia of Cokato, Minnesota, and Mrs. Paul (Amber) Anderson of Artesia, California, and one son, William of Woonsocket, S.D. There are also 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
