Walter A. Jones Dies At Age 82

Walter A. Jones, 82, retired Hawarden barber, died last Thursday night at a Hawarden nursing home after a short illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Barnard-Dow Funeral home with Fr. William Carel of St. Mary's Catholic church officiating. Mrs. Hal Shoemaker was organist. Interment was in Assumption cemetery at Merrill, Iowa.

Mr. Jones was born October 25, 1884, at Springfield, S.D. After retiring as a barber about five years ago he moved to Sioux City. He returned to Hawarden to reside in the nursing home in May of this year.

Survivors include the widow, Clare; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Morrison and Mrs. Pearl Gillman of Modesto, Calif.
