Dr.Dick Dies At Spencer, S.D.

Dr.Louis C. Dick,75,prominent physican who served the Spencer, SD.,community 45 years, died at his home May 14,. He was a brother of Mrs. Oscar Norberg of Hawarden and spent his childhood in Hawarden where he attended school. In June of 1961 he was the guest at an open house held for him by the community of Spencer.

Dr.Dick, eldest child of Martha Feige Dick and David Shrott Dick was born near Huron, SD. August 8, 1885. The family later moved to the Hawarden area where he spent his youth, some years in town and other on the farm. In 1909 he graduated from Hahneman Medical college in Chicago. He practiced at Irenton where he married Sarah Jane Farrand on June 25, 1909. He also practiced at Rembrandt,Iowa before going to Spencer. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceding him in death were a daughter and one brother Klaude. Burial services were in Lakeside cemetery at Spencer, SD.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Gene Tilley of New Prague, Minn., a granddaughter of Ferrand; a brother Robert, of West Orange, NJ., and two sisters, Mrs.Norberg of Hawarden and Mrs. Clarence E. Anderson of Alcester
