Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Orange City at 1:30 P.M., Monday, November 18, for M. J. (Mitch) Van Wyk, 75, Sioux County Auditor for the past 50 years and a longtime resident of Orange City, who died at the Orange City hospital Friday.

He had suffered a stroke four weeks previous to his passing and had been hospitalized since then, partially paralyzed, and unable to speak.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom and burial was in Hope cemetery at Hull.

In addition to serving for nearly half a century as county auditor, Mr. Van Wyk had held the position of president of the Iowa Dist. 3 County Auditor's Association for several years, retiring from that position about a year ago.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Joyce) Wielenga, of Orange City; a granddaughter, and a great grandson.
