Services Held For Mrs. Heeren

Funeral services for Mrs. D.L. Heeren,26, of Rock Valley formerly of Hawarden, were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Porter Funeral chapel in Rock Valley Rev.Mervin Nelson officiating and at 2 o'clock in the Hawarden Methodist church with Erv. C.E. Custer officiating assisted by Rev. Nelson.

Nellie Hartman was born October 25,1935, at Hawarden where she spent most of her life, graduating from high school in 1954. She married Donald L. Heeren September 1, 1957, and they made their home in Minneapolis where their children, Timothy James and Stacia Ann were born. In August of 1961 Dr. and Mrs. Heeren and family moved to the Rock Valley community where he began his practice as a chiropractor. Mrs. Heeren attended the Methodist church and was an active member of the Friendship circle of the W.S.C.S. and the Just-a-Mere club of Rock Valley

Survivors include the widower, two children and a sister, Mrs. Keith Anderberg of Chamberlain,SD, her parents Mr. and Mrs Harry C Hartman, preceded her in death.

Services Held for Mrs. Heeren

Mrs.Heeren,25, died Friday noon of bullet wounds in the head, self-inflicted with a small revolver, according to Dr. R.J. Hassebrock of Orange City, Sioux county medical examiner Officials said she may have been depressed because of health reason.

The incident occurred in the garage adjacent to the family home while her husband Dr. Donald Heeren, a chiropractor was mowing the lawn. Dr. Heeren discovered his wife body as he was returning the mower to the garage. He said he recalled seeing her go out to the family automobile earlier but thought nothing of it. The gun was in the vehicle, he said.

MRS. DONALD HEEREN
Funeral services for Mrs. Donald Heeren were Monday morning at 10:00 at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with Rev. Mervin Nelson officiating.

Services were held at the Methodist church at Hawarden with Rev. C. E. Custer officiating, assisted by Rev. Nelson. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Heeren died Friday noon of a gun shot wound from a small caliber revolver, which was self inflicted. Dr. Donald Heeren was mowing the lawn and upon returning the mower to the garage he discovered her body there.

Mrs. Heeren was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hartman at Hawarden October 26, 1936, grew up there and graduated from High school. On September 1, 1957 she was married to Donald L. Heeren. Following their marriage they made their home in Minneapolis, where their two children Timothy James and Stacia Ann were born. The family moved to Rock Valley in August 1961 where Dr. Heeren took up his chiropractic practice.

Mrs. Heeren attended the Methodist church and was an active member of the Friendship circle of the WSCS and the Just-A-Mere Club of Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widower and two children and a sister, Mrs. Keith Anderberg of Chamberlain, S. D. Her parents preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Lyle Ver Hoef, Gene Bunch, John Smith, Richard Berkenpas, Tom McGill and Hein Kosters.
