Sioux County Capital, Orange City, Sioux, Iowa USA Thursday, March 29, 1945

Dick Grevengoed, 72, of Rock Valley passed away early March 19. He had been ill for several weeks with a blood disease. On January 30 he had gone to St. Joseph's hospital at Sioux City to receive treatments, and returned February 16.

Dirk Grevengoed was born in the Netherlands on November 21, 1872. He came to the United States in 1902, and lived in this community until his death except for three years when he lived at Volga, S. D. On February 2, 1910, he married Mrs. Carrie Vander Stoep. To this union four children were born.

He is survived by the widow, and children, Gerrit Grevengoed of Orange City, Jake Grevengoed of Hull, Helen(Mrs. Marinus De Ruyter) of Rock Valley, and Henry Grevengoed of Hudson, S. D. There are three step children, Katie (Mrs. Jake Peters) of Hospers, Floris Vander Stoep of Hawarden, and Edward Vander Stoep oil Austin, Minn. Also one brother, Fred Grevengoed, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Vande Burgt, both of Rock Valley. There are 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church on Thursday afternoon. Rev. H. Kuiper will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
