Ireton Examiner, Ireton, Sioux, Iowa, USA May 30, 1996 Thursday

Edna Elizabeth (Bergsma) Maston, 85, of Sioux City, IA, died on Thursday, May 23, 1096, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were scheduled for 1:00 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, May 29, 1996, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, IA, the Reverend Dave Cave officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton, IA.

Mrs. Maston, the former Edna Bergsma, was born March 27, 1911, at rural Maurice, IA, the daughter of Gale and Hermine (Luikens) Bergsma. She attended rural schools, graduated from Ireton High School in 1929, and later attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls, SD. Mrs. Maston worked for the Sioux Honey Association for 30 years, retiring in 1980.

Mrs. Maston had served as president of the Business Women's Club of Third Presbyterian Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Sioux Beetles, and belonged to the Sioux City Women's Club.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Charleen and Bud Hoogland of Ireton, and Karen and George Mullins of Cedar Falls, IA; two sons, Ronald of Orlando, FL, and Richard of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Edward, of California; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine De Vries.
