Mrs. Gladys Rich Dies At Age 64

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys A. Rich, 64, who died Thursday at the Hawarden hospital after a lingering illness, were held at 2 o'clock Monday at the American Lutheran church, Pastor Norval Wigtil officiating.

A family service was held at the church at 11 o'clock that morning. Interment was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard-Dow Funeral home. Mrs. Rich was taken via ambulance to the hospital Wednesday night of last week.

Verle Marienau was the soloist with Mrs. Peter Sinkey at the organ. Casket bearers were Dallas Dimmick, Roger Dimmick, Dick Dimmick, Donald Dimmick, James Dimmick and Ronald De Wall.

Gladys Dimmick was born May 31, 1901, at Decatur, Neb., a daughter of, Curtis and Martha Holland Dimmick. She married Luther Rich on February 25, 1919 in Sioux City and they resided at Winnebago, Neb., until coming to Hawarden in 1942. He died on May 15, 1944.

Survivors include; three sons, Alvin, Alvie and Harold, all of Hawarden; a foster son, Raymond Strong of Font Stockton, Texas; five brothers, Guy, Clifford, Roy and Glenn Dimmick, all of Hawarden, and Elmer Dimmick of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Glenn De Wall of Hawarden; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
